The Tasks and Functions of the Cataloging and Classification Department:
- Adapting and implementing modern rules and standards for cataloging and classification;
- Unifying classification systems and organizing collections in accordance with international standards (Dewey Decimal Classification);
- Developing, adapting, and implementing the core principles of the MARC21 and RDA standards;
- Ensuring fast and high-quality cataloging of information resources in the open-access electronic catalog;
- Digitizing existing inventory journals updating the inventory of older collections to ensure accurate representation of all information resources in the electronic catalog.
