The Legal Office is a structural unit of the University, responsible for managing the University’s legal aspects.
Functions and Tasks of the Legal Office:
- Drafting administrative-legal acts, agreements (including memorandums) of the university’s management bodies within the scope of its competence;
- Ensuring compliance of administrative-legal acts of the university’s management bodies with normative acts of primary legal force;
- Assessing and approving administrative-legal acts prepared by the University’s structural units to ensure their compliance with applicable legislation, within the scope of its competence;
- Reviewing applications submitted by legal entities and individuals within the scope of its competence and participating in their review (in some cases together with other structural and educational units);
- Conducting administrative proceedings upon the instructions of the Rector and Head of Administration for the purpose of reviewing applications of legal entities and individuals and preparing draft decisions;
- Providing legal advice and relevant assistance to faculties/schools and research units of the University on the matters within the competence of the Office, as well as preparing the necessary documentation for them;
- Ensuring the establishment of a disciplinary committee in cases of student violations of the Code of Ethics;
- Preparing drafts of internal regulations, rules, and provisions of the University.
- Performing other functions and tasks as provided by the legislation of Georgia, the University Statute and administrative-legal acts of the management bodies.
