The task of the International Relations Service is to support the implementation of the mission and goals set forth in the strategy of Ilia State University. In particular, in order to strengthen the institutional framework of the University, the Office coordinates the internationalization activities of learning and research and promotes the strengthening of the role of Ilia State University in the international scientific and educational space. In accordance with the University’s Internationalization Action Plan, the priority goals of the Service are cooperation with international institutions, increasing participation in faculty and student exchange projects, strengthening the role of the University in international networks, promoting joint programs, attracting and supporting international students, etc. In order to promote the internationalization process, the activities of the International Relations Service include the following areas:
- Promoting the internationalization process of Ilia State University programs;
- Establishing and developing ties with foreign higher education institutions;
- Promoting bilateral cooperation between Ilia State University and international partners;
- Coordinating multilateral international meetings and events of the University;
- Involving students, researchers, administrative staff and professors in international mobility/exchange projects;
- Providing assistance to local and international students and staff during and after exchange competitions;
- Promoting the formation of a multicultural community at the University;
- Hosting delegations of scientific institutions of foreign higher education institutions;
- Recruiting and supporting foreign students.
